Summer Internship at ECCO

Background
The Spokane International District is in the East Central Neighborhood, and the boundaries are from Helena to Crestline, I-90 to the railroad tracks. We work to implement a comprehensive community development effort to increase the vibrancy of this neighborhood focusing on the neighborhood commercial center and surrounding residential neighborhood. The District efforts are lead by a partnership between ECCO, ESBA, Impact Capital and the City of Spokane.


Description
Under the supervision of the Executive Director of East Central Community Organization (ECCO), ECCO has one opening for an internship in Community Development and Historic Preservation. The intern will assist in the implementation of public outreach activities to engage the general public and key business stakeholders to enhance and improve the work of the Spokane International District. Tasks may include: helping to develop business recruitment materials; historic preservation research and definition; help with social media and webpage content; preparing reports; general researching; and related tasks aimed at ensuring the sustainable development of the Spokane International District. This internship will last for the duration of one quarter roughly 10 weeks for 20 hours a week.


Minimum Qualifications
Applicant must be enrolled in undergraduate degree program or have just completed an undergraduate degree and be enrolled in a graduate degree in urban planning, rural planning and development, economic development, public administration or a related field. Ideal candidate should be able to work independently or with minimal supervision. Candidate should be skilled in Microsoft Office and data research plus have excellent writing and oral presentation skills.


Preferred Qualifications
Applicants with excellent skills in Sketch up, Adobe Photoshop, or other graphic programs are preferred. Experience or ability in Web design is a plus.


Compensation
$1000.00 per Quarter
